In Vectric software, being unable to Ungroup an object usually means the selected item is not a standard grouped set of vectors. This can occur if the object is already a single vector, has already been ungrouped, or was imported in a way that causes it to behave as a single entity. Imported files such as SVG or DXF data may contain nested groups or be brought in as a single object that requires special handling before the individual vectors can be accessed. In other cases, the selection may be part of a component or 3D object, where standard 2D ungrouping does not apply.
To resolve the issue, first confirm whether the object is actually grouped by observing the selection outline—solid outlines indicate grouped objects, while dotted outlines mean the vectors are already separate. If the object is grouped, use the Ungroup command from the right-click menu, the Ungroup icon in the Drawing tab, or the U shortcut key. Some imported files require multiple ungroup actions to fully separate all nested groups, or the use of the “Ungroup back onto original object layers” option. If ungrouping is still unavailable, the object is likely not a true group and must be edited or handled using other vector or component tools instead.
